So theres lots of questions about the new dining hall and if it will be the only dining hall open next fall. I was wondering what you guys think they're gonna do to Jack Hopper next year. I'm honestly hoping they turn it into another food court type place for students but if they remain a dining hall that would be another cool thing as well.

Not sure how much if any of the dining component of Jack Hopper will remain. All I've heard about the building is that it's to be used for offices for student organizations or something like that. Seems like I remember catering being part of it as well, but I could be totally wrong on that.
I don't know if anything else has been announced since then. The dining hall hasn't much been on my radar.

In the fall I heard it would be used as meeting space.

In the fall I heard it would be used as meeting space. Yeah... I can't remember what I heard or read (or where...), but as I remember it -- and PLEASE take this with a whole shaker of salt; my memory ain't what it used to be -- the general idea was to take the whole Jack Hopper/Leone Cole building and make them into a sort of mini convention center. You have a couple of large meeting spaces, plenty of room for some smaller meeting rooms and offices, and the kitchen to allow for catering events held there (and on other parts of campus). I mean, it seems to make sense, even if my brain is failing me and I just created that memory out of the ether.

When I was a student I worked in the then named "SAGA" cafeteria. Working a shift on the trough line (the other side of that window where you shoved you dirty plates and utensils through) was always a good time. Feel around in the slop water and fish out plates and utensils to load onto the industrial dishwasher.

Anyone have pics of new dining hall? I didn't go by and look during the admitted students day back in Feb. The business depart dean said its going to be nice and they got a "sponsorship" to the executing dinning hall room.

I live in Pannell, which is directly across the street. I don't think they're going by that. It appears the "1st floor" will be some kind of loading docks, while the "2nd floor" will be everything else. As far as floor plans or renderings, I have absolutely no idea. It is coming along nicely though. The new dorm on the outside, I'm pretty sure is either already finished or getting very close! It is going to be huge! It is way bigger than I thought it would be! I think all they have to do on the outside is sidewalks and stuff like that but I'm not sure. The new football building is going to be very nice on the outside and inside! My only concern is handicap accessible issues. I am in a wheelchair and I have noticed that there are steps on the outside and inside so it makes me a little nervous because I want to watch games from there at some point. I haven't been able to keep up with the Randy Owens Center because it is kind of out of the way from my day today life. The visitor side is coming along slowly but nicely. It is still in the early stages, but it will be very nice.

Stairs everywhere on the old home side you can't even get to the concessions without 6 feet of steps. Is it even possible to watch from the new home side without paying for club level?

Wheelchairs are directed to the end zone by the student section.

You are correct Slim. According to ADA.gov, all "covered" buildings/facilities (basically public buildings) are required to accommodate wheelchairs & other handicap needs. They may not make them available at every entrance, but they should be available. Inside, I assume that would mean elevators for those not able to use the stairs.
