It's not a question of not wanting to help the other sports. We don't even have enough money to adequately help football. It's like if you don't make enough money to pay all your bills, but you barely make enough to pay your mortgage. You pay the mortgage so you are not living on the street. The other bills get paid when your income increases. The typical JSU graduate. Now ask him to send a good donation to a baseball NIL.

Actually I know the BOT makes these decisions. Know several members of the board personally. It is how things have always been done here. Seitz may make a phone call or 2 but the final decisions and background work is done by the BOT. You are a Seitz supporter and that is fine. But he was hired as AD with zero fund raising and limited administrative experience for the job. That is just a fact . Do the BOT's make ultimate decisions? Yes, not arguing otherwise. Hiring approval or firing for most management level decisions requires approval of the BOT's, (maybe all, don't know for sure on that) but if you think they don't listen & consider opinions like Greg's, I just don't know what to say. You like to appeal to authority, so let me say I too know a BOT or two, plus I've attended dozens of BOT meetings since the mid 90's. I'm not trying to be a "supporter" of Greg's, I'm just sharing what I've seen & heard regarding how the system works. There's plenty of times he & I frustrated each other over how we thought certain things should be done regarding my office's support of athletics. Rich Rod is head football coach, the reason we won 9 games in our first full season at FBS, & the first bowl game in the school's history. And Greg is the moving reason RR was here to do that. The ONLY reason? No. Did the BOT sign off on it? You betcha. Would he be here if the BOT didn't want him here? Nope. But they did those things because it was Greg's recommendation, one they obviously agreed with. Is it possible one of the BOT's had some personal relationship with RR or knew a friend of a friend or some other factors & brought it to Greg's attention with a suggestion to "look into this & see if we can get him" kind of thing, I'd say sure, that could happen. But if so, I still maintain that Greg puts in the work & due diligence & his opinions carry weight with the BOT's & President. If you think all Greg (or really most any AD) does is sit in their office playing solitaire on their computer & the BOT actually runs the day to day operations, again, I can only say, respectfully, you're incorrect. Now that this horse has been thoroughly flogged... Agree to disagree. I am afraid you will next claim that Seitz was the main factor in Ray Harper coming to Jacksonville. But it was Bill Jone’s close relationship with Ray that was the main factor and driving force behind that hire. Keep floggin’ away though. My main point is that Greg is not a fund raiser/ had never done it when hired. Cheap, lazy and easy hire.
