Just out of curiosity.
A lot of younger people mention the more recent moments, but I'm talking like 12-15+ years minimum.

Lets start with the 1969 Gamecocks under Coach Charlie Pell. In 1969 JSU traveled to Troy and got embarassed. Troy students came into the stands with live Gamecocks and rung their necks and threw them at the JSU fans. Needless to say, this added to old fashion hate for Troy and Pike County. The result of this game and the low level fan actions gave birth to the 50 year old WHUP TROY!
The 1970 Gamecocks used the experience to improved and did they improve. Troy came to Jville and from the get go, it was all Gamecocks....final score was Gamecocks 55 The Red Wave 10. Prior to becoming the Troy Trojans they went by Red Wave (the back wash of the Crimson Tide).
The Gamecocks went 9-0 and played Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Clasic in Miami. Gamecocks manhandled FAMU 27-7. Great night in Flordia.
Go Gamecocks!!!

I'm going to limit it to in person games and also to games we won. Although there was some very memorable close losses, a loss will never be a favorite. Gamecocks are in it to win it.
Hard to pick one, but I haven't felt so much pride and joy as I did in Vaught-Hemingway stadium in 2010. That was the game when we finally realized that we could compete with and even win against stronger competition.
Loved the home game in the playoffs in 92 against New Haven. They had a great running back named Roger Graham that played in the NFL, but was outshone that day by Danny Lee.
And this past year's team provided us with several memorable performances, but the bowl game was great and one that I will always remember.

That New Haven game is one of the most physical games I’ve ever seen. Didn’t Jax state knock their QB out?

I'm going to avoid the obvious -- winning championships, beating P5s, etc. -- and focus on just a few individual plays (or players, as the case may be).
Two of my favorites came from 1992:
The aforementioned Danny Lee - Literally any time he touched the ball, whether on offense or special teams. One of the most exciting players I've ever seen. We maybe threw the ball 10 times that entire season (I'm exaggerating, but not by much) and I think Danny scored 10 TDs off those passes. Heck, he may have scored 15 TDs off 10 passes. He was THAT good. (Again, I'm exaggerating, but not by much.) I remember one game that year, well after every team in America learned not to punt to him, when the other team punted away from him for nearly the entire game. Then, for some unknown reason, late in the 4th quarter, they decided to test him. He ran it back for 6. One of my favorite Gamecocks ever.
Sean Richardson - Another great Gamecock, but this time it's an actual individual play. It came in the playoffs, I think against New Haven. It was late in the game, and I believe we were clinging to a slim lead. But we HAD to get a first down to seal the deal. Handoff to Richardson up the middle, and the New Haven defense swarmed him about 3-4 yards short of the marker. And all of a sudden, that entire pile of players started thrusting forward. Four yards to go. Three to go. Two to go. One to go. And finally Richardson came down. They measured it, and he'd gotten the 1st down. Gamecocks would go on to win and book their trip for Florence. What a freaking moment. In that same game, Richardson outdid Danny Lee, and also caught a short pass which he turned into a long TD. Just a monster game all around.
Jumping forward a couple decades and up a division, and who can forget TJ Heath singlehandedly dismantling the UT Martin offense in 2009? Two pick 6's plus another INT for good measure.
And finally, there was a game against Tennessee State in 2004. It was one of those (many) years where the Tigers' elite athleticism had been projected to carry them to the OVC title. And in this game, it looked like they actually might follow through for the first time ever. They had the Gamecocks on the ropes. And then we handed off to Oscar Bonds, and he proceeded to do what Oscar Bonds tended to do that season. He ran right in front of me on that particular play, and he's lucky he didn't go deaf as he passed from me screaming, "YEAH!!! YEAAAAHH!!! YEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Good times.

Prior to becoming the Troy Trojans they went by Red Wave (the back wash of the Crimson Tide). I'm gonna steal that line for future use with a Pike County grad/family member.🤣

The (I think) '92 Alcorn State game, when Steve McNair (aka Air McNair) came to town. I was on the sidelines shooting for my newspaper, & all I heard was how he had an "NFL All-Pro arm" & he was going to "light up the Gamecocks". The score was 59-45 (again, I think), so he definitely got some yards, even though I think he was only a sophomore. It was fun watching him sling the ball, & he did go on to the NFL & not only All-Pro but MVP... but the Gamecocks got the win.

After that it was a nail biter.

What year did Patrick Plott catch a Hail Mary to beat the Leathernecks. Best catch I’ve ever seen.

What year did Patrick Plott catch a Hail Mary to beat the Leathernecks. Best catch I’ve ever seen. November 11, 1995: Freshman quarterback JeDarius Isaac completes a 42-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Plott with three seconds remaining in the game to secure a 32-27 homecoming victory for JSU over Western Illinois University.

The win on the last play of the game was priceless. The Western Illinois bench (players) were turned and facing the JSU crowd in the North stands and really taunting all Gamecocks.
On the play, all I could do was point to the scoreboard, once the players turned and saw the scoreboard, they were slaming helments, and cussing all the Giddy Gamecock fans.....the looks on the players faces were priceless. At that point in time JSU proved that it could compete in FCS. I would say that this was a signature win for the upstart FCS program.

At this point, my favorite moment is when we didn't lose starters to the transfer portal.

At this point, my favorite moment is when we didn't lose starters to the transfer portal. Some of it is poaching, but some of it is realizing you're probably not going to play much due to folks being brought in.
