Wasn't the spring game held this weekend? Any recon from that? If it was posted elsewhere my apologies.

It was. Storms delayed it by almost two hours, but it happened. Pardon my generic review, but it's hard to tell who as who and which group was full of starters or backups.
Logan threw an interception on his first pass attempt, I believe. But he rebounded well and moved the ball on following drives.
Caden Creel pulled off a nice TD run. He disappeared into a pile of defenders and still found his way out for a long run.
The defense recorded a few sacks.
No injuries, that I could see. That's the biggest win, especially with how hard it rained.
In terms of play calling, there seemed to be more of an effort to target receivers moving downfield in stride. Last fall, most of our receivers were flat-footed and had turned back to the line of scrimmage before catching a ball. I take this as a sign Rich Rod has a little more confidence in arm talent this year.
Now that the game is over, I'm holding my breath and hoping we don't lose any one else to the portal.

If you had to pick a starting Quarterback for Saturday, who would you start giving what you saw ? I will hang up and listen

But based on what I've read and heard, Smothers (despite the early INT) looked really good and is probably the No. 1 heading into fall. Several of the guys behind him (Frye, Creel, Smoot, etc.) are stepping up their game and looking pretty good. It's just too soon to tell with all the transfers. Any of them could take the reins by the time the Coastal game kicks off on Aug. 31. So while we don't really have a confirmed starter, one thing we do appear to have is much more depth than last year.

I spoke with a couple of players’ parents and heard good things. Focused on the long term and not “what do I get”
Need a slew of RB. Need more DL depth. I like what I saw otherwise.
