www.google.com/amp/s/hbcugameday.com/2020/06/01/famu-plans-to-leave-meac-for-swac/amp/That seems to be the case. That gives the SWAC 11 members. The rumor I have seen is Tennessee State would join them to make an even dozen. Which would be great. Nothing against TSU, I just don’t like their Homer Plessey schedule where they only play seven league games. So I will be glad to see them go. So what does the OVC do? My first call would be to Kennesaw State. They would be a bit of an outlier for everyone but us. But they do get the league into a major market, which would be a boost after losing Nashville. They would also get to have everything in one league and not the BS/A-Sun hybrid. My next call would be Chattanooga. I doubt they would come, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. It doesn’t really stretch the footprint and gets the league in a good sized city. Plus there are other schools in the league that would be happy to have them as a conference rival. But I don’t see them leaving the SoCon for the OVC. The SoCon isn’t what it once was but it is probably still a better brand. Then I would look at UNA. But I don’t know how much longer they are committed to the conference they are in and we would need someone for 2021. But I see the league going for Western Illinois since they really need a bigger presence in that state. Either that or another non-football. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Of that bunch, I would prefer Kennesaw. However, Western Illinois and UNA are probably the only ones that would be interested. Of those two, I prefer UNA. I like Tennessee State, but the SWAC really makes much more sense for them.

I would prefer UNA over WIU, but I don’t know if they would (or even could) leave the BS/A-Sun so soon. WIU certainly doesn’t excite me but they do play football and get us to an even number. That’s about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Truth be told, there's a lot of skepticism about whether WIU even has an athletics program 5 years from now. They're not someone we should be looking to bring in.
That said, not sure Kennesaw or UNA would be game for leaving the BSC.

In the ovc the call would likely be to wiu. I do t think jsu has the pull to get who suits us. I kinda think they'd like to rid themselves of us.
