You know. I don't mind people confusing us with Jackson State, or thinking we are in Florida. It happens. We aren't a big school and no one outside of Alabama has any idea there's a Jacksonville in Alabama.
But this ****ing idiot took so many ceiling fan blades to the head as an infant that he put "Jacksonville State (sometimes called Jackson State)” in actual words and published it.
Wow.

Sure, people confuse us. But this is an article in an actual magazine by someone paid to do this. The guy included information about Sanders’ playing days and when he was drafted. So obviously he did do some research. So how did this horribly written article happen? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also another nugget I noticed is that in the article he calls the team the Gamecocks, but in the caption on the header photo he calls the team the Tigers. Accurate as a Biden adminsitration fact-checker. I honestly don't know what the writer used for sources. He has detailed information that must have required research, but he has them for multiple teams and somehow glossed over the fact that they are indeed not the same. Also, I would like to take a moment and deviate from the topic. I'm not going to delete this comment or anything because it doesn't go against the written rules of the board. But consider this my friendly reminder to all that due to previous happenings on previous message boards that everyone regardless of the side they are on should tread very lightly with any political quips. This board was a direct result of such things getting out of hand elsewhere and while this example by itself is harmless, it can lead to escalation if someone decides they have a different opinion. I'd very much like to avoid that possible situation all together. Again, not saying you're in trouble or anything. You didn't break the rules or anything. I just want to completely avoid any opportunity for potential escalations between people who may have differing opinions because those situations aren't fun for anyone and I just would ask that people help out with keeping the board clean, so to speak. Thanks, and now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

He did give praise to the band, but probably thinks it is a HBCU band. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Multiple people have responded to Maxim and the author on Twitter. His second and probably last article, lol. Been up for 6 hours and no edit.
They actually did delete the Twitter link

The sad thing is the guy is an actual sportswriter and not some dork the magazine told to write the article.
