I didn’t expect to win, but I expected an effort.

I've had time to decompress.
John Grass is a loser. Jimmy Ogle is a loser. Greg Seitz is a loser. The Cramton Bowl is 100000x worse than Legion Field. It's become more of an absolute dump every year. We're going to get embarrassed in the ASUN.

With the upcoming schedule and the quality of the preparedness of last night performance, Im getting ready for a "long and dark" season.
We have serious OL and DB problems. WRs couldnt get separation against UAB but Coop didnt have much time for them to create any.
Hopefully someone can give me some positives other than the punter but we still kick the ball into the endzone on punts.
Whiskey will be needed for Gamecock football.

At breakfast my wife said “JSU got spanked, they’re not even fun to watch”. Yeah, that pretty much nails it.

Any news on 30? Swain was putting in some effort last night. He should be promoted to defensive captain at the next team meeting.

Once again Grass fields a team that looks totally unprepared to start the season. At least to my naked eyes. Multiple offsides penalties, receivers dropping passes that hit them in the numbers, poor blocking, a secondary that looked like a deer in the headlights, just bad football. Hard to think we’re coming off of two back to back seasons with little down time. 154 total yards, third down efficiency 2-13, 2.6 yds per pass, 9 penalties. Really doesn’t matter, it’s already swept under the rug as Grass will get a pass this season since we’re in a new division and such. You know, it’s gonna take a couple of years to settle in and establish ourselves. Reassert our “blue collar” prowess.

Embarrassing!! On national TV. The spot light. If this does not open some eyes as to what a weak pathetic conference we have played in and our sub par coaching then nothing will.

This was a sub par performance from our usual OVC games wasn’t it? Yeah, UAB is FBS and they’re a good team no doubt. But what was that we trotted out there?

I looked at my Blazer wife and conceded defeat after three straight passes to somebody named PJ Wells on the second drive.

Lots of errors on their side of the ball all night, too. Their DBs are quite a bit better than ours. Not many athletes in our secondary, or not as athletic as UABs receivers. Their TE and I believe number 10 were open all night. Our guys were just too slow to stay with them.

UAB is above average at the FBS level. They play in a weak conference too. They can't hang with a P5 team. Georgia will be the toughest team they've played since The Return and they will get slaughtered next weekend. We saw them play at a mediocre Tennessee in 2019 and they were embarrassed there. And Florida whooped them before that.
Come to think of it, I haven't traveled to any time of away game in a long time and watched the team I went to watch win. Austin Peay in 2011 or 2012 maybe. I'm cursed.

Both teams had miserable first halves.
Bill Clark fixed most of those issues before the 2nd quarter was over.
John Grass made a list and will begin working on them individually as the season progresses, after game prep, as time allows.
In the meantime, here are some excuses for your Tuesday presser BINGO card:
1) No full offseason, so the team, especially our freshmen and sophomores, haven't had a chance to put on weight and let their bodies heal.
2) We played well, but UAB is a great FBS team and made us look bad.
3) Zerrick's cobwebs after missing so much time due to injury. Because Oct. 23, 2020 was a long time ago, and it takes time to readjust to game speed.
4) Pregame storms threw off our routine.
5) You never know where you stand until that first game. Now we have a good idea how our guys respond, and we know what we need to work on before we enter conference play.

He already brought up that no muscle mass excuse in a practice interview. The blame was assigned to the players weeks ago.

We did have fewer penalty yards and fewer penalties.

How was the entrance on to the field? Has it been corrected for away games since 2015?
