I don't understand how we are still ranked. Does not compute. A feeling among voters that 1) UAB may actually be a good team and 2) FCS teams shouldn't be penalized too heavily for playing up. That said, if we have the exact same pisspoor showing against FSU, I think more people will lose confidence in the Gamecocks, even if they DO believe that FSU is a good team and FCS teams shouldn't be penalized for playing up.

Sure I can see the logic for #2. ... If you got stomped Alabama or Ohio State or UGA. But we didn't play Alabama, Ohio State, or UGA. We got absolutely shit kicked by a previously aborted CUSA team. I'm not saying fact we lost is a problem. It's how we lost that is the problem.

Let's see how many points UAB puts on UGA this weekend, will it be more than Clumpson?

If UAB's defense shines, holding UGA to under 21 points, then JSU getting shut out doesn't look nearly as bad. On the other hand, if UGA walks all over the Blazers... not a good look for the Gamecocks.

They may end up doing to UAB what UAB did to us. If UAB can't move the ball at all, it could turn into a 30-40 point showing for UGA against the UAB defense, even though UAB is very good defensively and UGA isn't that good offensively. That said, UGA may be worn out from that war with Clemson and it ends up closer than it should be. I am interested to see it, regardless!

Maybe the QB can complete some passes behind the linebackers but you're right, at least against Clumpson they're were beastly. Dayum!

UGA is having COVID issues. Game could be closer than you think.

Maybe in the minority but I wasnt too impressed with UAB. Hope Im wrong because then we are not as bad as I think. Watching the game I thought we 100% should have been able to match UABs level of play. I will say that Bill Clark has defintely got them on the right track and I expect them to make another run at the CUSA title. But they didn't stand out to me as world-beaters. Not on the level of being able to go into Athens and do anything special. Not a shot on UAB, but the UGA defense may well be the best unit in the country. But we were able to go into LSU and at least look somewhat competent, despite being thoroughly outmatched. We honestly had no excuse to do that poorly against UAB and many of our shortcomings were very clearly self-inflicted. I don't think UAB-UGA will give us anything meaningful about the state of our team.

I will say this, if you switched coaching staffs, the score wouldnt have been the same. We couldn't beat them 31-0. But JSU could have won the game with Clark at the helm. UAB could not beat JSU with Grass as their coach. Ill leave that right there.
