Totally random question on a Monday, other than Struts or Jefferson's are there any other bars in Jacksonville? If you wanted to grab a group of friends and go have a couple of pitchers where would you go? I would venture to say there's probably a couple of restaurants that service alcohol?

You can't forget Cooter Brown's. Also, the restaurant formerly known as Heroes (and before that, The Sports Nut) is now Jo Jo's Po'Boy Shack, offering cajun food, a solid amount of draft beer, and a full bar.

Sorry, I forget about Cooter Brown's however it'll always be "Crossroads" for me. Yeah, I'd been in The Sports Nut/Heroes a couple of times it wasn't bad. Just a bit far from campus to be convenient before or after a game. What happened to Mama Goldberg's? They served beer didn't they?

Mamma Goldbergs served beer. The university bought it and changed it up. I can't remember if they serve beer now or not. I work on Saturdays so by the time we get to a game now it's just about to start.

Baja is alright but I miss it when that group was at Casa Fiesta. You could get those giant burritos for $5

Not strictly a drinking establishment, but I get all of my kegs and special-order craft beers from Brew'n'Vape. They are located in the building where Heroes used to be on Hwy 21. www.brewnvape.com/

My how times have changed since Miller & Bud ruled the campus. Love it.

Miller and Bud? Y’all must have had some money! We were rolling in Keystone Light with the occasional splurge on Coors Light!

Alas, Cooter Browns hasn't served pitchers in years.
That's where me and a buddy went on my 21st birthday (on a freaking Monday), and they had them back then, but no more.
Still, its my favorite place to sit and drink with a small group. Good variety of beer and liquor.

Craft beer when I moved to Jacksonville in 2005 meant Shock Top, Blue Moon, and Pete's Wicked Ale.

Craft beer when I moved to Jacksonville in 2005 meant Shock Top, Blue Moon, and Pete's Wicked Ale. There were 40-something beers on the Jefferson's menu in 1991-93 when I was in J'ville. I went "Around the World" twice. The second time I did it in a single day - started before 12 and finished after dinner. I went in alphabetical order...Amstel and Abita helped me get through Coors and Bud flavors...I was buzzing strongly on Grolsch and slowed down around Heineken...picked up steam on Nordic Wolf Light...by the time I got to Red Stripe, Rolling Rock, Saint Pauli Girl, Sam Adams, Sapporo, Simpatico, Tecate and Telluride, I was pretty well lit and didn't care. Then I went to Technology class. I didn't beat that record for number in one day until one fine day in Thailand when I did it entirely with Chang. I posted from there on that day lol.
