Precisely my reaction. This team went 5-6. Talent was never the problem. Coaching? That’s a really broad area, but I think so. One could say culture was the culprit, but that is part of coaching. There were some areas where Grass excelled. Unfortunately his weaknesses were in areas that affected success.

Reconciled the newcomers list against the 2022 roster. I didn't add new high school players, since it's too difficult to track walk-ons, but I did add JUCOs in addition to Portal transfers.
No earth-shattering surprises, but we did land a couple more young "3-star" transfers. Emphasis on young. Most if not all these new additions will have 3-4 years of eligibility, if we can hang on to them for that long.
Here are the Portal additions: Kaleb Graham (OL, 6-3, 300, Terry, Miss./Terry HS/Jackson State Univ.) Keishon Jarrett (TE, 6-4, 225, Warner Robins, Ga./Houston Co. HS/UVA-Wise) Tyrone Lyte (WR, 5-11, 180, Detroit, Mich./Jireh Prep/West Virginia State Univ.) Jeff Marks (DL, 6-3, 280, Mobile, Ala./Davidson HS/Purdue Univ.) 3-247Sports, 3-Rivals, 3-ESPN Cam Williams (BAN, 6-5, 241, Loganville, Ga./Loganville HS/troy state) 3-247Sports, 3-ESPN

Im gonna say that it will be a competition between Webb and McLaughlin (NC State Transfer)

Im gonna say that it will be a competition between Webb and McLaughlin (NC State Transfer) Webb is penciled in (in very light pencil) heading into camp, by virtue of being the only one in the QB room with starting experience. McLaughlin will *probably* be the one pushing him the strongest, since he's *possibly* the most talented, according to the recruiting services. At the end of the day, though, with the exception of Webb (RS senior) and California JUCO transfer Jordan Solomon (sophomore) everyone in the QB room, including McLaughlin, is a freshman or RS freshman with limited snaps and no starting experience at the college level. So it's going to come down to who performs.

It appears the g5/fcs has become the developmental league for the p5/P2 whatever the future brings. So now the hierarchy appears to be semi pro league Developmental league And amateur football.

Finally confirmed that DB George Steele has signed with Northern Arizona.
To my knowledge, that leaves DL Lemuel Gordon as the only unsigned player in the Portal, as of Aug. 16.

One of our Portal gains is now a confirmed Portal loss. Nebraska transfer DE Jamin Graham is now on UAB's roster.
