Former Ga Tech QB Jordan Yates has transferred to our future conference mate Sam Houston State. He's a grad transfer, but should still have at least two (maybe three) years of eligibility remaining.
Yates served as the primary backup to starter Jeff Sims in 2021. He completed 93 of 153 attempts for 908 yards, with 6 TDs against only 3 INTs. He added 2 more TDs rushing. Coming out of Milton HS in Alpharetta, Ga., he was a consensus 3-star recruit and the No. 19-ranked dual-threat QB. His uncle is former UNC and NFL QB T.J. Yates.
Solid pickup for the Bearkats. The FBS transition certainly isn't making them any weaker...
