I’m not sure that is a discussion as much as accepted knowledge

I didn't say anything political. As you can tell, my post doesn't say edited.

OK, what did I miss? I don't see any discussion, commentary, or opinions of candidates. The quotes portion of SteveO’s post had the original post referencing Biden. Ah, I see. Thanks

Federal emergency declaration will more than likely offer an escape route from the contract. Recently the Southern District of New York ruled Covid was a natural disaster which could evolved force majeure. Even if the contact was signed during the Covid period. Might not matter about the quality of your legal team. You may have a small chance of winning but most likely not worth the gamble with the court ruling. I have Force Majeure language in my contracts and have had to use it…. Oddly, I have been hit several times by my 2 customers that have tried to get around the language. Every time, my attorneys just point to the language and the issues are dead. Natural disaster or an act of God will save you every time.

So what was the big announcement? Completion delayed to 2024 That was known a couple months ago. I remember when I went on and on about the 2023 non-conference schedule, that there was no need to waste home games on good opponents in 2023 because the stadium would be under construction.

There has been no “official” announcement but when the project was first announced, it was to open for 2023. It’s been obvious because of the delay in getting started that was not going to happen. Greg discussed the delay in the radio interview that was posted in another thread.

Pharaoh Rameses II Pharaoh…King… tomayto, tomahto. Forum rules were by committee. There was discussion about adding a political forum for those who can’t help themselves. The moderation team unanimously decided that given the fact that there are countless political forums and social media options for such discussions, in the spirit of maintaining a peaceful community all such discussions would be barred. Here we aren’t Democrats or Republicans or even Libertarians. We are Jax State. Go Cocks!

And a wise decision it was. Think of all the peace there’s been since then.

And a wise decision it was. Think of all the peace there’s been since then. I admit, you guys were right. Glad I deferred to you. All of us know better than few of us. Moderation is necessary, lest we become like the Wild West . There’s a reason the Wild West died.

Moderation is necessary, lest we become like the Wild West . There’s a reason the Wild West died. After seeing the crapshow that ensued on the old forum from loose moderation, I wholeheartedly agree with this policy, even in the cases when I agree with the political statement. Back in the days of the Weatherly Hall band dorm, once of the rules of the lobby (where everyone hung out) was, "No politics." Now, this was in a much more civil, more reasonable time, when Democrats, Republicans, and even big-L Libertarians could be friends. And even then, a bunch of snot-nosed older teens and twenty-somethings knew that the best way to kill a friendship was to argue all the damn time. Flash-forward to the 2016 election, and a guy posted a series of memes in support of [Let's Call Her Jane] on the Facebook group for Southerners alumni. I told him this: We come here to remember old times, to discuss recent news about JSU and the band, to share news about our fellow alumni who are sick, injured, or newly relocated to God's Celestial Shore. It's an escape from the rest of Facebook, which is a toxic nightmare of hate, contempt, and shattered dreams. You may see nothing wrong with the memes you posted, but half the alumni on here support [Let's Call Him Steve]. So imagine you come on here to see what all the other alumni are talking about, and all you see are pro-Steve memes. Does that sound like a place you want to come to remember good times from decades ago? Or does it sound like a place which will immediately put you in an angry, defensive mood that makes you want to lash out at your fellow alumni? No one's saying not to post your pro-Jane stuff on your own wall, or in groups devoted to that sort of thing. Go nuts with your badself. It's a free country and an even freer internet. But for the love of fresh baked biscuits, please keep it out of here. ... I feel the exact same way about sports forums.
