I enjoyed the event! It was good to hear from Seitz, Killingsworth and Coach Rod. Food was good too. Really like the fact that Coach is willing to move some games around to get us some TV time. Hopefully that all plays out where we will be some of the mid week games on ESPN.

It was a good event. Trustee committees met yesterday. General meeting this morning. Wonder what news we'll get? Yes, Rich Rod seemed relaxed and happy to be here. I would think with his contacts future JSU schedules will be upgraded beyond what CUSA brings.

Really looking forward to HCRR's first season as a Gamecock. Regardless of what happens it's gonna be fun to watch.

Solid turnout last night. Around 50 if you exclude the JSU employees. Include them and it might have been around 75.
For those on here wanting to support the football program directly, join the 900 Club. There will be several exclusive events and benefits, including a cookout at Coach Rod’s house next month. You can find info on the athletic website.
Go Gamecocks!!!

FYI, Coach Rod will be featured on ASUN Media Days from 11:32-11:37 AM EASTERN (not central!!!) Friday on ESPN+. Here's the linkI watched several of the coaches speak, including Rich Rod. Absolutely no news to report. As KSU's Brian Bohannon said, "No one wants to be here. Media Days are just something we have to do." Nuggets from Rich Rod (some of these may be slightly paraphrased)... "I still suck at Twitter." "Happy Birthday to Zach Cangelosi." "The problems we're having at JSU are good problems. We have to find housing for all these new students. New facilities are being built starting in a month or two." "The first year is the hardest year. Implementing schemes, getting to know everybody and what they do best... Our guys have really bought in." "Calvin Magee was really like my brother. He could finish my sentences. ... We're going to dedicate all we do to him." "I've got a group of players anxious and hungry to prove themselves." That's pretty much it. We'll see what comes out in the local media over the next day or two. They'll get their choicest bits in one-to-one interviews. Today's stream was basically just introductions.

So, now that the stadium project has changed, do we get more seating? The dorm space will not be at the stadium. That will be built over by Logan and Patterson. The dining component and the football offices will still be built at the stadium. Seems like without the dorm building, we may have some room to increase seating. Hopefully, someone on here can get us a copy of the new design soon.

The stadium changes are either catastrophic. Or for the better. It would seem without the dorms attached we just about have to get more seating. There would definitely be more space available

Where is the source that the stadium design changed? Gadsden Times reported it. There is a new thread about it now.

The stadium changes are either catastrophic. Or for the better. It would seem without the dorms attached we just about have to get more seating. There would definitely be more space available Left unsaid in the Gadsden Times article: With the dorms removed from the expansion, there's now ample room for both the double dome and bourbon slide. Even without the dome and slide, though, I think this opens the door to a FAR more appealing stadium design. There were elements of the original design that looked good from the outside, but from the inside, the big blocky dorm just looked like a big... blocky... dorm. Maybe the new design will also be able to address the field placement to expand the sidelines. I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

Other than the inflationary projection of costs I am iniatially pleased with the divorce of stadium and dorms. This leaves the door open for much more appropriate stadium developments.
