Welcome to Jacksonville State, Peyton Daniels (PG, 6-2, 185, Ellenwood, Ga./Tri-Cities HS/Vanderbilt Univ.).
As a high school senior, he was rated 4-stars by ESPN and 3-stars by Rivals and 247Sports.
Daniels only saw action in three games for the Commodores as a true freshman last season. He should have four years of eligibility remaining.

I hope he can handle the academic rigor of Jax State.

I hope he can handle the academic rigor of Jax State. Probably will struggle, not like Vandy where when you get in the hard part is done.

Seeing playing time as a freshman in the SEC is impressive, regardless. Hopefully he does well.

I don't think we'll have a hard time remembering who Daniels is on the court.

I don't think we'll have a hard time remembering who Daniels is on the court. Not sure what you mean. Please tell us more.

Highly recruited player out of high school. Tells me he could be really good. But that's just my opinion. Really looking forward to see him play.

He played the first three games of the season and had at least 12 minutes each game, so they weren't garbage time minutes. So I wonder why he didn't leave the bench after that.

Just to be clear... in the O.P., I didn't point out his lack of playing time to say, "This guy sucks."
I pointed it out to say, "Hasn't done much yet on the collegiate level, but he's barely played and still has four full years of eligibility remaining."
It's rare that any true freshman contributes to a team in the SEC, other than 5-star one-and-done guys who play a season and then become lottery picks.
And you don't have to be one of those guys to become a major contributor for the Gamecocks.

I was just wondering why he suddenly vanished after getting significant playing time early and then he transfers. Glad it wasn't an injury or off the court issues.
