Let’s go. Start saving your beer money now because they’ll probably be $20 by then.

A series I have been hoping for since the move to FBS.
UAB is a bigger get than tory state. This has the makings for a real rivalry along with Kenny.

Wish we could've gotten a game 10 years ago when there was till bad blood over Dollar Bill, but I'm happy this is a done deal. It makes so much sense for both schools. I assume this won't cost either team a dollar in hotel stays. Our biggest alumni bases are in Birmingham. And it might force local outlets to give the game more than a passing mention. I'd love for this to become a regular nonconference series. And kenny can be our conference rival. Both about 90 mins from us.

Surely things have change from the Crowe era, but when we used to play at Chattanooga and Alabama A&M, those were day trips for us. With our travel budget being what it is now, I assume we would want to save a penny where we can.

Since we can't have athletic dorms anymore, it's the only way a coach can make sure his players are all where they need to be, doing exactly what they need to be doing, eating when they're supposed to eat, eating what they're supposed to eat, and going to sleep when they're supposed to go to sleep. As a fringe benefit, it allows the team to maintain the same basic routine on the road that they do at home, helping to blunt the other team's home field advantage.

I like this matchup. Hopefully JSU can get exposure to the over the mountain Bham area future students. If I was JSU I would be promoting the crap out of their nursing program to Hoover, Pelham, Trussville and surrounding area students. Why go to UAB for undergrad nursing? They don't offer housing waivers the 1st year for freshman and the ACT scholarships than JSU.

Believe they stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Oxford.

A series I have been hoping for since the move to FBS. UAB is a bigger get than tory state. This has the makings for a real rivalry along with Kenny. When it comes to local interest, it's a bigger get. When it comes to state-wide or even "national" interest, troy state is the bigger get.
troy state has won way more titles and big games, and has been in the Top 25 more. Besides Bill Clark's three really good seasons there... what has UAB really done?

Dont believe nationwide the interest will be much different. tory state, UAB nor Jax State have much of a national brand. Statewide it will easily be UAB, most citizens live in the northern part of the state and tory state has small or less following in this part of the state. Similiar to South is a better get for tory state than UAB or JSU. Im old and none of my friends ever talk about tsu unless they have bet on their games, few speak of UAB but its quite a few more. Other than band folks not sure the masses are that appealed by a JSU v tsu game. If what I hear is correct and tsus band has fallen off that may wane soon, too.
