And what a forgettable one it wash. 4 straight losses now with the loss to FIU in tourney Program appears to be on life support moving forward. Not much to be optimistic about with no NIL.

Next people will blame us hosting high school basketball tournament. Ray is washed up . It’s time for us to find someone that coaches in Jr College or a small college that has swag and cool in the sun . Let him build the program . Ray time has passed at Jacksonville State . And yes I am calling for his immediately firing .

So, a request... after '84 & Red call Greg & Don (or better, drop by their offices for a face to face) to voice their opinions on the dire & imminent need to fire Ray IMMEDIATELY, I hope they will come back here to share a transcript of the conversations.

When you lose four games in a row , NIL ain’t the problem . Ray gotta go . He should have had to rent a car to get back home .

I think Harper gets one more year to get it together before we move on. We need to have a better OOC schedule because playing jr colleges and NAIA schools before Christmas isn't doing us any favors.

It has EVERYTHING to do with NIL. Ray Harper is a very good coach that took 2 teams to the NCAA tourney- unthinkable before he arrived. He is not the problem. He is in a fight with a tooth pick squaring off against a 6 foot sword. The administration has to do something to help him out but it is all about football now

Not calling for the firing of Ray Harper. He simply cannot afford any decent players now. But I would ask Don and Greg what are you doing to help out the basketball program? Because right now I see NOTHING.

Are there any realistic, feasible solutions for the current NIL situation for JSU considering the lack of deep pockets of the average fan/alumni? The school already has a considerable debt load as well.

What wasn't and couldn't be predicted is how much NIL would change everything. NIL certainly wasn't perceived the way it has become since the Federal court decisions and just plain bad timing for JSU. Hopefully things will change and soon. I have no idea of a realistic solution right now. I am almost 99% sure it lies above Don and Greg's level.

The school already has a considerable debt load as well. The BOT’s, Don and Greg need to focus some efforts corporately just for basketball. There is such a centric focus on football only right now and fund raising outlets are certainly limited. I understand the challenges here and know the school, history and people involved. Grew up in Jacksonville and had a parent work at the school for 25 years. Basketball was always my concern due to school location, size of town and available resources. But then Ray Harper was hired and he seemed to alleviate many of the recruiting obstacles. That was before this new world of NIL and that has obviously changed everything. Wish I had better solutions.

The total dedication for football was made at the BOT level- I know 2-3 of those people and there is no doubt about it.
