You guys complaining about the heat should try going to a 1PM game, wearing the old Southerners uniforms, carrying gear, and marching halftime. Then come talk to me. It's one season for good reason. I know 1PM kicks suck and I hate them too but it will be ok. If you don't want to go, cool. No problem. But there's a reason it's a 1PM kick and it's not to give you heat stroke. I'll see your "old Southerners uniform" and raise you "my old Southerners uniform." Nothing like a quarter inch of wool to keep you cool on a hot late summer day... Those things were designed by sadists. And let's not even talk about the satin pullovers which were all the rage until the early 80s. Even the sadists were like, "Nah, man. That's just too much." And don't forget about the players themselves... it's eleventybillion degrees out on that field, even without the helmets and pads... I think we can all agree that 1 p.m. games are miserable for all parties involved. I think we can also all agree that there's probably a good reason we got stuck with those kickoff times this year. (Lack of lights is a theory, and a solid one, but it's not necessarily the only reason.) My advice earlier, right before I accidentally stumbled on the new "miserable but fine" marketing slogan was 100% legit: For any game days where the high is forecast to be 85 or higher, ANYONE with health issues which make them susceptible to heat exhaustion and/or stroke should by club level seats or stay home. That wasn't me being flip, dismissive, or overly critical. It's sound advice. I want fans in the stands, but I'd prefer that they survive to come back for the next game. Ditto, the advice about hydration for everyone else.

With construction not many options for this year maybe next year. Complain all you want but do you have a solution?

The stadium in Montgomery needs to add lights so we aren’t playing in such hot weather.

As for Montgomery, the 2:30 kickoff is terrible, but that time gets two FCS teams on the big network on ESPN. Not ESPN+. Not ESPNU. Not ESPN3. Not even ESPN2.
E-S-P-N.
That's a huge deal, and with it being Coach Rod's first game, there's probably a sizeable number of viewers in Arizona, Michigan, and West Virginia who'll turn in, who might otherwise not have been interested. This is a marketing coup, if nothing else.

Networks are like wives, if they tell you to do something you dont like just be quiet and do it. Or you can complain and still end up doing it.
