One thing I remember in CRR's introduction, he said that he believed that he had one more head coaching job left in him.
That is at the time of his hiring.
Take would take him at that.

No. He left Coastal for Liberty because Coastal pays 1M per year. Liberty pays him 4M per year. That is a substantial difference.

Again, I said that CRR would really want to go back to WV to go to Marshall. Didn't say it was a step up. It would be a G5 lateral move.

If Marshall offers him 4M he will be gone (as he should be).

If and when Rich Rod moves on, do we invite Bill Clark back? I heard he was at the last game, maybe his alumni loyalty would entice him back to lead the team for many years.

I saw Jack Crowe on level 5 against WKU, so...... Interesting thing about old Jack... Prior to moving to the OVC, Jack had never coached a team to a winning season. Not one season above .500. The closest he came was 6-6 at Arkansas in 1991 after losing to UGA in the Independence Bowl. He was fired one game into the 1992 after famously losing to The Citadel. While there is realistically zero chance of Clark being hired back, and I don't anticipate an opening any time soon, we could do much worse. We likely wouldn't extend an offer, and CBC would likely decline it if one were to be offered. If CBC wants to return to coaching, I would think he would take a DC position at a P5 school and then move to a head coaching position when a suitable one opens up. He would make more money as DC at Bama than as HC at JSU, and would benefit greatly from a few years as Saban's understudy. Given his track record and connections in-state, he might even end up the HC in waiting. Prior to Clark at JSU, we had never won a playoff game. In his one season, we made it to the 3rd round. Prior to his arrival at UAB, they had one bowl appearance in 18 years, and lost 59-40 against Timmy Chang's Hawaii squad. In Bill's 7 seasons at UAB, they were 3-2 in bowl games - a bordline miracle given the team having a self-imposed death penalty in 2015/16. I know some call him "Dollar Bill" because of the way he left JSU after one season, but there really is more to the story if I believe what I have been told. He is a great coach, regardless.

Above photo taken at the Liberty game. At 76, Jack's coaching days are done... but at least they were both standing!

If CRR leaves don't forget about Zac Alley. Does he want to be a HC or DC in the future? He should be considered.

Interesting they were sitting together.
I think Crowe gets a bad rap around here. No, he didn’t make anyone forget Knute Rockne, but he wasn’t horrible. He did overstay his welcome but he did have a winning record most years and got us on ESPN for beating Ole Miss. It was time for him to go but he did leave behind a group that excelled under Clark and some of whom made it to Frisco.
Clark? I can’t blame a man for taking a big pay raise. He moved the program forward with the playoff run and then saved UAB. (Not sure if that’s a good thing).
No, I don’t want Clark back. Second acts don’t often go well and I think we can do better if RichRod decides to get richer.

He left a lot for Grass to work with also. Toward the end of his career Crowe started recruiting much better (size, speed) players and that carried through.
