Why would CRR be a leading candidate over several other coaches? Not sure which are younger but normally you want younger. Very few would have his name brand but there quite a list of schools who have decent candidates.

This leaves out asst and FCS coaches

Just to be clear, I wasn't referring to Coach Grass. Just for sake of discussion, if CRR wanted to finish his career near home what might become available that's within a 5 hour drive? #1 WV absolutely. But at THIS POINT, Neal Brown has really helped his job status. #2 Pitt--possible Narduzzi goes to Mich State. 90 minute drive. #3 Virginia--Hopefully Tony Elliott gets them going. 4.5 hour drive. #4 Maryland--Locksley has done a good job and might be offered a better P2 job. 4 hour drive. #5 Kentucky--Stoops is from northern Ohio and he knows it is a long shot to ever win the SEC. UK is a very stable job for him, but if he wants to win big, Michigan State might be worth a look. 5 hour drive. #6 Penn State-- Franklin does OK and he has been mentioned in the past at openings. 3.5 hour drive. #7 Virginia Tech--Don't think they would give up on Pry after 2 years. NEVERKNOW. 4 hour drive. #8 Ohio State-- If Ryan Day loses to Michigan again,......very long shot. 3.5 hour drive. #9 Marshall--If Huff wins the Sun Belt, he will be in demand. CRR would really have to want to go back to WV and they would probably match JSU's salary & bonus'. 3 hour drive. Did I leave anyone out? If he doesn't care where he lives he might be interested in say: Indiana, Ole Miss, Duke So how are these schools head coach trending? 1. West Virginia--UP--WV is playing well 2. Pitt--DOWN--turmoil is building 3. Virginia--UP--beating Miami was big 4. Maryland--DOWN--4 losses in a row including Illinois and Northwestern 5. Kentucky--Rebound--Stoops a possibility at Michigan State and we'll see what happens with Harbaugh at Michigan 6. Penn State--UP--they seem happy being the 3rd best team in the Big 10. 7. Virginia Tech--UP--but needs to beat Virginia on the 25th 8. Ohio State--UP--non factor 9. Marshall--Hard to tell--get a big upset the last 2 years but then lose too many conference games Other possible movement: Indiana--will they pay a $20 million buyout for football? Ole Miss--if TX A&M fires Jimbo would they go after Kiffin? CRR was the OC at Ole Miss in 2019 Duke--Elko will be a hot name in this cycle Syracuse--going down hill Mississippi State--this one has become a topic the last couple weeks. New AD. Low buyout. Iowa State--Matt Campbell should be a candidate at Michigan State and the possible Michigan opening. It's hard to get stars at Iowa State. CRR might be the guy to build a good roster there. Cal--CRR probably has an opinion from his time at Arizona. Iowa--will Ferentz retire. At 68 years old it would be hard to stay after they fired your son. Any others? It seems very suspect that your tendency to post is to seek out HCRR next job. Must we every week till he leaves or dies?

Just saying what may be open.

I know most of you guys are used to being in the FCS world, but in the Power 5 world this is a top topic in November. If no one joins in to discuss, I'll just post my thoughts for all to see and let's see what happens. HCRR has great results, but you guys seem scared to lose him because JSU might not get another good coach. There are quite a few former P5 or NFL head coaches that would be interested in coming to Jax State. You should be happy to have other schools consider HCRR.

Did I miss something... is HCRR on his way out?
Listen, can JSU and it's fans stop acting like we're the annoying little brother that's fun for a while, but nobody really wants to hang around??
Seriously, WE have an inferiority complex that needs to disappear sooner than later. Otherwise we will always be the stepping stone, not the real deal.
ENOUGH!
WE ARE ... JAX STATE

Its simply a perverse wet dream stevo has. I just find it a little annoying. Its not my job to find a replacement for a man who hasn't made any indication he's leaving. Stevo just finds pleasure in pissing on what good is now.

JAX STATE BTW: Sorry for my rant... I'm still angry from Saturday's loss... You and me both. And this ties into your post... I'm seeing too many "fans" all happy that we played a good game and "almost beat an sec team". We all need to realize that we're no longer fcs. There are no more moral victories. We lost a game we should have won. I don't care who the opponent was, we SHOULD have won that game. 2nd and 11 from the 17 with just over 2 minutes left in the game is NOT when you want to throw the ball. Run the ball. Run the clock. Make them burn timeouts. Yes, we played a good game and we made a lot of people take notice. But there is no "win" from Saturday. Not anymore.

It amazes me the people who want to lecture everyone on how to feel. There's probably not one person here who doesn't think we should have won that game. There also an agreement on why we struggle. Most simply take some consolation in outperforming expectations for this season. Which of you picked us to win 7 or more games. Almost no one. And none picked us to beat USC. So try not to be so sanctimonious.

They are passive aggressive and when used in this way imply that someone is not a fan. Everyone wanted to beat SC. Nobody is happy with the loss, but we didn't lose to Austin Peay. Falling into depression when we still have two winnable games left doesn't help anything.
