Maybe they will get the old press box knocked down during Thanksgiving break That old press box is used for TV. Need a way to accommodate TV. There are 3 camera towers in the rendering.

I wonder if the tents will be JSU themed or just plain

Hope they are something of a permanent style. Metal or at least the Sail Fabric type which stay up not removed each week. Some side protection would be nice for wind and sum.

What are the 2 white budlings on the visitors side. I know the one next to student section is visitor locker room. What is the other one with a jacks sign?
What the future plans of those 2 buildings?

One thing they should consider for the students would be a upper level at the top with tents and drink rails for viewing. The one thing I know having a daughter in college is they like to walk around and take pics at games and talk (not sit in seats). Having an upper level would increase student attendance.

There is also one on the student section side that is still used.
As much nostalgia as I have for them, they should probably be razed so a modern concessions/restroom facility can be built on that side.
We need to have a visitors section, but I hate to surrender that whole side to them, so I'm excited we are redeveloping it.
I enjoyed sitting in the red chair backs once they were released to be basically GA seats. We had a small, but rowdy contingent over there, and during the 2015 run, it was a real advantage having a bunch of folks right behind the visitor bench. RR is on to something when he mentioned he wanted the students over there.

RR is on to something when he mentioned he wanted the students over there. I agree totally that the concessions and restrooms on the north side need to be completely razed and rebuilt. (Same with the visiting locker rooms, though CRR would prefer to keep them in tents permanently. LOL.) As for the visitors seating, we don't need the entire north stands to be set aside for visitors. With the *possible* exception of Kennesaw (and troy state, when/if we ever play them in Burgess-Snow again) visiting crowds generally won't number more than 1,000-1,500. (And that's a big crowd.) Put visitors in one or two sections (most of which are 700-1,000 seats each) and make the rest general admission seating. I still say they need to put some reserved chairback seats back on that side. Something pricewise between G.A. and Club Level. A lot of the non-band crowd would buy those up just to avoid being packed like sardines on the home side. On that note, for anyone who sees a photo of the north stands from the La Tech game and questions the 20K+ attendance, let me assure you... when you have three adults sitting in a space designed for two, you can squeeze a LOT more than the listed capacity on those home-side bleachers. I heard multiple people around us laugh at the beginning of the game, "Well... I hope everyone went to the bathroom pre-game. We're not going anywhere for three hours." Adding some non-Club reserved chairback seats on the "home side" wouldn't be a bad idea either, actually. They'd sell like hotcakes. Anyway... back to the north stands... at one point early on in our OVC tenure -- it might actually have been 2003 -- JSU put the student section behind the visitors bench. This ruffled feathers in the soft OVC, and neither Coach Crowe nor the JSU administration felt motivated enough to fight it, so JSU moved the students elsewhere. Conference USA is a far different animal, and this time, putting the students there would have the full and vocal support of the head coach. It needs to be done. But only after the renovations are complete, of course. I love helenagamecock 's suggestion as well, to provide a "standing" area for students. Honestly, this is something I'd love to see in hoops as well. Duke's student section doesn't even have seats. It's literally a standing section. If you want to sit down, you need to go somewhere else. For football, of course, you could have both. Seats down low, standing up high. Just be sure to separate the student section from the visiting fans. We have a reputation for being classy and friendly to opposing fans. That's something that'd be nice to preserve.

It was 2003. It was awesome. The Southerners sat behind the visitors next to the students as well.

Put the visitors on the far west side of the north stands. Students on the east side. Leave Southerners where they are. Better yet, when troy state comes or some other team we develop a hatred for, split them up and give them some seats on the far west side of the north stands and some in the east end zone.

It was 2003. It was awesome. The Southerners sat behind the visitors next to the students as well. Yeah... I have to admit, though, I much prefer Southerners in the corner. They make life hell on visiting teams in the east red zone, and where they're at now, they play directly at the home crowd. (I've always had a pet peeve about band placement at football games, at all levels. The home band is always playing toward the visiting crowd and vice versa. It doesn't make sense. All you can hear when you're beside a band in the stands is drums and muffled brass, then you hear home fans -- not at JSU -- complain that the visiting band "sounds so much better." It drives me freaking nuts.) Didn't they actually flip the teams instead of moving the students and band in 2003? Basically, the Gamecocks moved from the north side (which was then the pressbox side) to the south side, putting the band and students next to our team instead of the visitors. I dunno. That was a long time ago. Can't believe it's been 20 years.

The home bench was moved and to the best of my recollection remained where it is today since. I vaguely remember a couple incidents. Specifically, a few EIU fans insisted on sitting on the 50 yd line in the middle of the students and UPD ended up in the stands. Another time, a visiting player squirted water from a water bottle on some band members. Probably mostly mild things happened, but OVC teams weren't used to fans in the stands and complained.
