Yeah... I have to admit, though, I much prefer Southerners in the corner. They make life hell on visiting teams in the east red zone, and where they're at now, they play directly at the home crowd. (I've always had a pet peeve about band placement at football games, at all levels. The home band is always playing toward the visiting crowd and vice versa. It doesn't make sense. All you can hear when you're beside a band in the stands is drums and muffled brass, then you hear home fans -- not at JSU -- complain that the visiting band "sounds so much better." It drives me freaking nuts.) Didn't they actually flip the teams instead of moving the students and band in 2003? Basically, the Gamecocks moved from the north side (which was then the pressbox side) to the south side, putting the band and students next to our team instead of the visitors. I dunno. That was a long time ago. Can't believe it's been 20 years. Yes, that is when they flipped the team sidelines. 02, was it just for 2003? 2003 was my freshman year and I don't remember before then even though I came to games. It's been the same as far as I know since 2004.

IIRC, an OVC school complained (EIU?) in either 2003 or 2004 and the following year the visiting team was moved to the north sideline. Then in 2010 the stadium tower opened and the home fans moved to the south sideline. In this painful video from 2005, you can see that the Gamecocks were already on the south sideline. We've come a long way... youtu.be/MOAGA7rTvpo?si=_SQIa4PaLLLYDvty

I was curious how red tents would look, so I made this mockup. It uses the same low-res image jsu02 originally posted, so don't expect too much, but I do think colored tents are a big improvement. (I'm 99.9% sure the white is only for the rendering anyway. Again, I was just curious.) Also, for those of you whose OCD causes you to twitch when you look at the stadium lights... I checked a photo of the current stadium and confirmed it's just a weird perspective glitch. The current stadium has four sets of lights, one on either side of the old pressbox and one on each end of the stands. Since the east side of the stands isn't visible in this rendering, you just see the three lights, and because the architects added some perspective to make the west side farther away, it looks like there's a giant gap where there should be more lights. tl;dr: Don't worry about it. It'll be fine.

Band behind the visitors bench would not be bad. Would make TOs difficult to get your adjustments in and create some issues.
Chairback seats for some of the student section would be nice. May cause some to get to the game early.

Very soon. Anything with demo that needs the circle blocked should done during the break Maybe they will get the old press box knocked down during Thanksgiving break If not this week then probably during Christmas break. Weather is an issue.

There are 3 camera towers in the rendering. But who knows when that side will be done? Cash talks. The rendering changer should be done by next seasoN .

I want us to he great hosts. Put visitors on the 50. Maybe someone will do the same for us. I don't like the corner we get stuck in.

I'd prefer to not be surrounded by visiting fans. I say put them back and charge more to pay for them. Also is that suites along the top of the stands below the tents? And is there any seats or is it all bleachers?

That is the intent for the new field hose so it makes sense. Of course this is all subject to change based on a number of things, mostly cost. We should know for sure in the spring by looking at them at the spring game or when they begin selling them.

A previous post said it was seating at high boy tables for the folks that have rented the tents for hospitality. That makes sense to me. Everything else is going to be bleachers. You are not getting your chair back seat again unless you come over to club level. It's the cost of big boy football and I love it!!!!The new end zone facility looks like it will have enclosed suites for hospitality and chair back seats directly outside those suites for watching the game. We have got to keep increasing revenue if we are going to try and keep CRR and this staff as intact as possible.

We have got to keep increasing revenue if we are going to try and keep CRR and this staff as intact as possible. Its not about paying for the seat it's about having the seat. Frankly the club level seating which seems to be popular, stink, they are straight up and down and jammed together with no room, and at a poor angle for comfort or watching. I like many old men have back problems, I cannot sit through a game in those seats. The seats at the Pete while tight are much better seats at a better more comfortable angle. We need seating midfield much like it was before we took them out. We should have already charged for the seats that were there rather than charging only GA. Like the Pete there should be opportunity on both sides of the field for great seats. Think about it, if the seating is so popular on that side doesn't it seem more on the other side would be popular also. Furthermore if we're concerned with income and big boy football shouldn't we at least appear to offer something on both sides of the field rather than having big boy football for the home side and high school bleachers for the thousands of visitor we hope to attract? We have a smallish stadium shouldn't it in turn offer luxury seating in the prime real estate mid field rather than wasting space that could generate more money. Imagine we get a home and home with a big boy team that actually travels. Shouldn't we be able to maximize the revenue from the game? Rather than 15 bucks a seat? 1000 seats x 100 bucks. Or 2000 x 15. Which one pays for big boy football? Bleachers mid field is a stupid amateurish mistake. Like building a beachfront trailer park.
