If we have to play at Fresno, we should get AT LEAST $750K. Travel costs are usually factored into guarantee payouts. (It cuts both ways: this was one of the justifications used by troy state to low ball us when we inquired about a possible guarantee game there about 15-20 years ago. They took their standard offer and cut out the standard accommodations for travel, food, and lodging, and the amount of the guarantee dwindled away to the point of disrespect.) Besides, Fresno's got cash, even without the PAC. Make em pay. Impressive! www.fresnobee.com/sports/college/mountain-west/fresno-state/bulldogs-football/article264667569.htmlMost impressive thing about that article is Southern taking their band to Fresno.

Most impressive thing about that article is Southern taking their band to Fresno. And for a lousy $275K guarantee, at that...

What does any of this have to do with Jax St It goes back to a month ago when Whup and I were discussing how much a Mountain West school would pay (buy game) for a school like JSU (CUSA). Kent State showed how to get overpaid. Got 1.1 million. More than I thought.

Brett McMurphy @brett_McMurphy · 1h Huge win for ODU: Since starting last year 1-5, Old Dominion has won 6 consecutive regular season games, including tonight's 20-17 upset of Virginia Tech. Monarchs now 2-0 at home all-time vs. Tech. Example 1A why Power 5 schools hate/won't play at Group of 5 school

If the Coastal game is "transfered" to JSU, it could come as a home & home. With the game at JSU potentially the home (renovated stadium) opener in 2024. The reverse could happen with Eastern Michigan, JSU could play there in 2024. It could be good business to help Liberty and New Mexico State to clear out games. fbschedules.com/ncaa/liberty/fbschedules.com/ncaa/new-mexico-state/An awesome 2023 non conference goal could be: 09/09 at Coastal 09/23 Eastern Michigan 10/14 at Louisiana 11/04 at South Carolina For 2024: 08/31 Coastal 09/14 at Eastern Michigan 10/05 at Fresno State (if they go to the PAC, might get $750K) 10/26 Louisiana Remaining P5 schools with an opening for a G5 in 2024: 1. NC State 2. Duke 3. Syracuse 4. TCU 5. Cincy 6. Houston 7. Northwestern 8. Rutgers 9. Auburn 10. Tenn 11. Alabama - yes I know you will say Alabama won't play JSU. 12. Boston College SEC announced their 2023 schedules tonight. NMSU currently has kept their game at Auburn. So that hasn't gotten transfered (so far) to JSU. Auburn's 4 2023 non-conference games are Samford, UMass, Cal and NMSU.

Auburn is also not eager to play a JSU team with a full allotment of 85 scholarships. Of this list, I would like either of the two North Carolina schools. Those would be good trips to a pretty area of the country. Of course, if Auburn wants some more that would be my first choice.

UAT would be great just to piss all the other schools in Alabama off.

UAT is consistent. 2023 schedules are out and for the 79th year in a row, they couldn’t find an in state school to schedule not named Auburn. They are helping to prop up the athletic departments in the state of TN though. MTSU and Chatty are on the schedule.

Listing my preferences in order, without the slightest regard as to whether the team will play us or not:
Alabama Auburn Tennessee Duke NC State Cincinnati Houston TCU Boston College Northwestern Syracuse Rutgers

Alabama has four OOC games scheduled through 2025. They will have to drop one if the SEC goes to nine games when TX/OK join. They have a home/home with Wisconsin in 2024/5. Maybe we could pick that up.

Boston CollegeWith the Big 10 announcing their 2023 schedules tomorrow, I thought I would update this for those of you that are hoping for 2 money games. Unless something real unusual happens the last hope is that NMSU would transfer their game with Northwestern to JSU. Since they are playing at Hawaii they will get 5 non-conference games. Would think 2 home and 3 away: 1. UMass (week 0) 2. Western Illinois (gotta beat somebody) 3. @ New Mexico (state rival) 4. @ Hawaii 5. @ Auburn Leaves games at: Louisiana, Northwestern and San Diego State fbschedules.com/ncaa/new-mexico-state/

Well NMSU gave up the Northwestern game but it's going to Howard.
Still wouldn't mind getting the home and home with Louisiana.
