There won't be much room in the schedule if everyone is forced to play a 9 or 10 game conference schedule.

If you need a solid laugh, just go read Sun Belt twitter and fan boards.
Those poor misguided souls actually believe they're going to be in position to poach schools FROM the American. It's delusional.
I don't believe every FBS conference is going to aim for "Super Conference" status. It just doesn't make financial sense for most. The SEC and Big Ten, certainly. There may be room for 1-2 more. Those will be "lesser" Super Conferences for sure, but they'll still be a cut above even the best G5s.
Everyone else will basically go for the closest thing they can achieve to a "Regional" footprint, whether the whole conference is regional (a la MAC) or the divisions are regional. You don't need 20 bazillion teams to achieve this. Arguably, both the MAC and the Belt have already achieved it.
CUSA needs 2 western teams and one eastern team to achieve it with the current 2024 lineup. If NMSU and UTEP (or really, anyone else) gets poached, it changes those numbers, but what doesn't change is that we'd still only be a handful of schools away from having regional divisions.
I don't think it's realistic that the Belt, MAC, or CUSA wind up collecting teams above their current paygrade. This could potentially happen out west with the MWC, but only if the Pac-12 is decimated by Big Ten/Big XII expansion. I see no such scenarios unfolding in the rest of the country.

I have not been to one of their boards in awhile. It is a funny read but too much fiction for me. You add some losing programs minus JMU and become a super conference? But it does work to some degree as you will even see some on here talk about joining the SBC. Just glad we didnt have to start in the bottom conference.

CUSA and Sunbelt need to get together and strike a deal with Apple or Peacock.

Yes every time someone is poached the theory’s fly everywhere. I’m surprised the sbc is talking about merging with the b12 or pac 12. Over inflated ego is a requirement to join the sbc me thinks.
The thing about the west is that there are a limited number of eligible schools so one of these conferences may have to look eastward for replacements. Depending on the number of departing schools. I don’t think the number will be that large the sec I believe will remain eastern. Or the ACCs problem. So the pac will backfill with b12 and Mwc Or the b12 from mwc Which tends to lead to the conclusion. Nmsu and or Utep will join the mwc.

CUSA and Sunbelt need to get together and strike a deal with Apple or Peacock. Conference don’t tend to get together for any reason. It’s an ego thing. Ie we’re not peers we’re better than you.

New rumor is BIG12 is taking four teams from PAC12 today. PAC12 is collapsing. The "G5" schools are about to become irrelevant. That will put the Big3 Leagues at 16 teams each. If they each take four more to get to 20, that will be 60 teams teams that can break away to form a Super League.

B12 will not be a Big3. It will be a Big 2 and the 8 dwarfs. ACC is not surviving this as we know them today. The weak sisters will all be gone except the few legacy members of the SEC and BIG.

Big 12 is underrated. They aren't the SEC and B1G but they are solid.

8 Million people watched the championship game between Baylor and Oklahoma State. FOX and ESPN aren't going to have rooms for these games when the contract expires. That's going to be a huge TV deal.

Or it appears this way from where Im sitting. JSU doesnt compete with the SEC/BIG for recruits but the lower level P5 schools will soon be losing recruits to anyone in the Big2. Players will want to be in the top group.

Double the P12 viewers, which is why it will be surprising if anyone leaves the B12 for the P12. Seems you would want out of the P12 if the B12 invited your school. The SEC was almost double the B12 and about 4 million above the BIG. Same weekend Southern Cal brought in a whopping 390K about half of JSU v UAB. Even the SBC championship was ahead with 440K Weekend before UCLA had 386K viewers USC v UCLA had 1.836 Million viewers Not sure looking at these numbers if the BIG is getting much of a deal. Do understand why USC and UCLA are moving, no one seems to care about their old league.

As far as recruits, you are still only allowed 85 scholarships no matter what conference you are in.

Guess with NIL you could pay all you want.
